Have you ever thought, or said out loud, “I NEED A BREAK!” I pretty much have been screaming this in my head for what seems like months. There’s so much going on in my life right now, I really feel as though I’m at my wit’s end.
I’ve been praying and talking to GOD, trying desperately to “be still” (Psalm 46:10) so I can “hear” what He’s saying. Sometimes, I do hear, “Terri, it’s okay… I’ve got this”, and when that happens, I burst into tears of gratitude, straighten my crown, and move on.
Well, I DID get a break today! And I mean a BIG BREAK! It wasn’t the break I had been anticipating, but it was a break, nonetheless.

So, I was taking a shower :::insert wide-eyed emoji here::: when I slipped and fell. As I lost my footing, I thought, “Well, this is it… I’m gonna die wet and naked in my tub, and this is how I’ll arrive in heaven! But the truth is, I know when I get there, no one’s going to be looking at me in that way because I’ll receive a new, heavenly body (2 Corinthians 5:1) :::Phew:::! Was this a “break”? You bet it was! I literally could’ve cracked my head open and that would’ve been that!
As I landed HARD on my backside, banging my left arm/elbow on the side of the tub, I was more shocked than anything else because I was still in one piece. The FIRST thing I did was thank GOD. I thanked Him for giving me this life-saving break. “Getting a break” may not show up as you might expect, but sometimes it shows up when you need it the most. Today was one of the best breaks I could’ve ever received from the One who always has my back.
I’m almost done drinking my third cup-a-coffee and my ice pack’s getting warm. I’m going to take some quiet time to thank and praise GOD (again) for hearing my cries “for a break”, and sending this one in the nick-of-time.
Then I’m going to Wal-Mart to buy a bath mat, just to err on the side of caution.
